ART INSPIRATION

“How do you define an artist? In my view an artist is a risk taker, who jumped from a clifftop and is now forever flying, a shaman connecting the spiritual to the physical world. The creative process is ritualistic, you loose yourself, to create an eternal imprint, a declaration of life. The artwork here is an expression of an artists creative process.

Our hero the 'Artist' is painted as a multilayered column, on their head the little bird with an olive branch is a cue to the story of Noah, a symbol of an idea, a dream, which is released from your imagination, to spark the creative journey.

The serpent coiled around the sun disk is a reference to God Ra, the god of the sun, and the most important god in Egyptian mythology. He was said to be born each morning in the East, and died each night in the West. By night he traveled through the underworld. This is a symbol of unity with time, space and humanity to express our connection with past, present and future. Only when this unity is created can you become truly connected with yourself, to receive ideas and transmit them to others in art form.

The face of the 'Artist' is simplified, no gender, no ego. Two crosses of the eyes, testify the to 'Artist’s' hypnotic state of high virtual depth. Halos around the head illustrate the transmission of the creativity. The hero’s wings, exhibit the their openness of take flight, to commit the creative ritual. Leaves shoot from the branches as symbols of new beginnings.

The Artist resting on a fish, exposes the slippery and precarious reality of attaining one truth.

I added the sentence “Fly, Don’t Slip! “ as a moto to spread your wings and to follow your personal unique flight.”
