INSPIRATION

Dervishes are wise travellers of Central Asia who abandoned domestic life in order to pursue spiritual wisdom by traveling. They are great spiritual teachers who share their wisdom through fables, myths and legends. Mystical dervish orders have historically worn distinctive minimalistic robes for their travels. For the traveller their robe was their shelter, their identity and their costume for their beautiful meditative ritual dancing.

THE CUT

The asymmetrical hemline of the Dervish coat is cut to revive the circular movement of the coat of a dancing Dervish while in motion of the meditative ritual dance. This cut has soft regal shoulders, is comfortably oversized and can be worn as a layering piece. Each Dervish coat in the collection has its own unique artwork applied by hand.
